GM issued these to lead technicians at level 1 service centers and are essentially the 4L80e “bible”. the full color fold-out hydraulic charts are near artwork. I collect them at various bookselling auctions and try to have a few extra for sale to fellow dedicated 4L80e enthusuasts. At one time Chris K was reportedly working on either a reissue or an expanded modern version much like his excellent TH400 book. Until then, this is what we have. please note there are many more V1 (early lube) books in circulation than the V2 as GM started offering them on CD-ROM in ‘98 so there are just fewer V2 (late lube) books.
The V1 is still 99.99% applicable to later transmissions aside from the cooler return and the 90-91 only “torque compensator” circuit.
