4L80e Billet 245mm (9.5") single clutch 2800-3200-3600 stall speeds

$950.00

My flagship model based on the most commonly used core in performance aftermarket torque converters, The general motors 245mm. Originally found in GM front wheel drive applications, this unit has quickly overtaken the older 8” and 9” units for applications under 850ftlbs and 3600lbs vehicle weight.

I can also build these with a triple friction lock up clutch for +$125

I build all 245’s with fully tig brazed internals as they never featured furnace brazing from the factory. I use a billet turbine cover (engine side) and add an anti-balloon plate to the pump on every unit. I may not beat the price of every 245 builder, but I definitely beat the build quality and robustness. I’m proud to use Independent Drivetrain for my 245 kits.

Further Upgrades Available. I can put a mechanical diode in the stator for ultimate reliability at the 3200 rpm stall and 3600 rpm stall speeds. This is a $600 upgrade for a 5 strut diode from Independent Drivetrain and brand new Sonnax aluminum stator designed to fit said diode. Expensive yes, but if you are in the power range that 245 fits best, this fixes the common issue of a failed stator sprag seen in transbraked and turbo applications.

I also offer these for Turbo 400 applications at $775 make spragless +$200 or 10 strut mech diode $600
